A new upload - Rossini’s wind quartet from our new album LIVE

Getting ready for the summer

Dear friends,

The summer is here and we have some hot news for you:

in exactly one month we will head to France and participate in the unique ‘Festival de Chaillol’ in the Alps in its 22nd edition.

We are invited to perform four concerts as part of the cultural exchange France - Israel.

The first one is dedicated to the Israeli composer Stephen Hornstein and it includes a premiere of a new piece he is writing especially for us for this occasion.

On the second concert we will continue celebrating the publishing of our new album, LIVE.

The program includes some of our most popular ‘hits’: Bach, Rossini, Weill, Piazzolla and of course Berio’s Opus Number Zoo.

To conclude our festival experience we will play a couple of unusual nature concerts for the local residences. They will take place in the beautiful surroundings of the area.

Forecast for the summer: cool...soon in the French Alps

In the front

The members of the Quintet continue to perform regularly as soloists with orchestras in Israel and abroad.

Last month Yigal was playing Marcello's concerto on baroque oboe with the Barrocade ensemble in the Abu-Gosh festival;

In the same time Roy premiered a flute concerto of the swiss composer Nicolas von Ritter-Zahony together with the Geneva Camerata conducted by David Greilsammer.

This Wednesday, 4th of July, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra will hold a festive concert for the U.S. Independence Day. Danny will perform Copland’s Clarinet Concerto under the baton of the JSO’s music director, Frédéric Chaslin.

Coming up soon - celebrating a decade together!

The next season is going to be very exciting - believe it or not but it will be our tenth...

We prepare a few surprises for you, including tours in Germany & Italy, international guests and a festive double-quintet project in collaboration with the excellent young musicians of the Jerusalem Music Centre. This is how we looked like almost ten years ago, in a picture from our very first concert in the JMC, December 2009:

Time flies when you are having fun... more information on our tenth season soon

Wishing you a pleasant and relaxed summer,

Members of the Tel Aviv Wind Quintet
