Dear friends – Shana Tova!
Concert tours abroad connect the closure and opening of past and current seasons.
In August we had a very successful tour with four performances, part of Festival de Chaillol in the French Alps, in collaboration with the France - Israel cultural exchange season. The highlight of the concerts was two world premieres, written and dedicated to us by the Israeli composer Stephen Hornstein: His second Quintet, ‘Portals’, and several arrangements of Jewish music from all times for quintet, percussion and soprano saxophone (played by the composer himself). The audience received the pieces warmly and we are very happy about these special additions to our repertoire. In addition, we also participated in a unique project of the festival, 'Musical Walks'. Small ensembles performed for groups in the middle of their hike in nature. This was an unusual and enjoyable experience for us.
"At the heart of the festival we discovered exceptional musicians... a beacon on their own Mediterranean shores... they played through a program that explores three centuries of music history with virtuosity and talent" - click on the photo to read the full review
In exactly one month we are taking off again and this time to Germany. We will play three concerts in the Mainz area, organized by the Villa-Musica foundation. The core of the program includes Mordechai Recthman’s arrangement of Verdi’s wonderful string quartet and Hindemith’s ‘Kleine Kammermusik’. On top of that we will add Bach, Weill & Rossini, all pieces that we cherish very much from our two albums.
In the second part of the tour we will perform in Gießen and in Blaibach where we will play, among others, Zvi Avni’s Quintet – a piece we had performed on our very first concert series back in December 2009 (!)…:

Our first decade celebrations
For our 10th season we’ve prepared a festive program for you all.. We will play about 30 concerts and give several educational activities all over Israel, from Kfar Blum all the way to Eilat, with excellent international guests such as pianists Aviram Reichert (South-Korea\Israel) and Mari Kodama (Japan). The Israeli composer Yoav Talmi wrote a new piece especially to mark the occasion; We will premiere it as part of our winter concert tour.
The celebration will culminate in June 2019, when the outstanding young players of the Jerusalem Music Center Program Participants will join us for special concerts in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Rishon Le’Zion with a unique program of extended wind ensembles.
Full details, dates and programs can be found here in the link, save the dates and come to celebrate with us ten years of wonderful chamber music for winds!
