Dear friends,
Believe it or not - this month we celebrate the quintet’s 15th anniversary! We will mark this occasion on a concert tour around Israel starting next week.

The program consists of pieces that we love - from Mozart to Paquito D' Rivera. It includes two wonderful quintets that we’ve performed at our very first concert in December 2009, by Nielsen and Villa-Lobos. We will also premiere a new piece written for us by Israeli composer Talia Amar. The concert will be concluded with ‘Opus Number Zoo’, Luciano Berio’s masterpiece in its theatrical version. This performance is directed by Ari Teperberg and celebrating Berio’s 100th birthday.
You are welcome to join us on the following dates:
Some more good news: We are happy to announce that we won the 2024 Daniel Binyamini Award for chamber ensembles, given by the Israeli ministry of Culture. This ray of light is much appreciated during such a dark time…
Here are the comments from the jury:
The Tel Aviv Wind Quintet, founded in 2009, based itself as one of the main groups in the Israeli chamber music scene. The ensemble maintains a high performance level and shows creativity in its programming for various audiences, adults and children alike They are consistent in combining new and original repertoire with famous cannonic compositions. An important part of the quintet’s activity is the commission, performance and recording of pieces by Israeli composers. The ensemble performs all over Israel in front of diverse communities in the center and in the periphery, alongside international tours in which they expose Israeli compositions to audiences around the world.
On this exciting landmark we would like to thank everyone who joined us on this long journey. A special thanks to the incredible team of the Felicja Blumental Music Center for their support, and of course to our audience for their kind devotion.
Looking forward to seeing you soon, hoping for better days and good news,
Members of the Tel Aviv Wind Quintet
