Dear friends,
The blessed return to regular concerts and performances on stage is just around the corner in Israel. In the meantime we are happy to continue and play for you online.
On Tuesday, June 16th at 19:00 we will take part in the digital concert series of the Jerusalem Music Centre. The wonderful pianist Ishay Shaer will join us for a diverse program of pieces by Pavel Haas, Nino Rota and Jean Françaix. The program also includes the beloved piano quintet by Beethoven (whose 250th birthday celebration was slightly ruined by the global Corona crisis…)
The concert will be broadcasted in the JMC’s YouTube channel and you will be able to watch it here.
The Italian composer Nino Rota is mostly known for his film music (8 ½, The Godfather). However he was also a great chamber music composer. Here is a little taste from his ‘Piccola offerta musicale’ for wind quintet - as recorded in our ‘Wine concert’ a couple of weeks ago (See video link above).
Souvenirs from a special evening in the 'Protea Hills' elderly house in Shoresh, last week. What a pleasure it was to perform in front of an audience again, for the first time since the virus outbreak...
Wishing you good health,
Members of the Tel Aviv Wind Quintet
