Dear friends,
We hope you are all well in these difficult times.
We would like to invite you to a special concert - Music In Five Dimensions.
Music in Five Dimensions | Compositions by Stephen Horenstein
Thursday 23.5.24, 20:00 | Studio Annette - Kiryat Hamelacha Tel Aviv
Winner of Israel Prime Minister's Prize for Composition, Horenstein is a multi-faceted musician and composer. Many years of collaboration with the Quintet gave light to numerous compositions, written especially for us.
The Chaillol festival in France commissioned Horenstein's second quintet - "Portals". We will now give it its Israeli Premiere. This performance was hailed by the critiques in France: “Horenstein created a sound universe where time flows in a sacred dimension… At the heart of the festival we discovered exceptional musicians... a beacon on their own Mediterranean shores” (Jacques Freschel, Zibeline Journal)
'Wake Up Call', fourth movement from Horenstein's Quintet no. 2, 'Portals'
Recorded live at Festival de Chaillol, France - August 2018
The program will be completed by two pieces: A world premiere of Horenstein’s Quintet No.3 - "When One Door Closes, Another Opens", and "A Journey through Time” - Jewish music from different eras, arranged by Horenstein for wind quintet, percussion and saxophone. Horenstein himself will join us and play the saxophone as part of this unique musical journey.
