'Peter and the Wolf' is back!

Dear friends,

'Peter and the Wolf’ is back for only 4 shows!

Whether you missed it or want to see it one more time - we invite you to experience Prokofiev’s famous and beloved tale arranged for a wind quintet in a new and colorful version combining music, theater and movement.

The show, directed by Ari Teperberg, is designated for the entire family (recommended for children from the age of 4) and will take place during February in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Emek Hefer. In Tel Aviv we are happy to offer a special rate for our friends - 60 NIS, using the promotion code “זאבזאב”. For more details and tickets click here.

The main piece in the program is Beethoven’s Quintet for winds and piano, opus 16. We will also play Darius Milhaud's ‘La cheminée du roi René’, a suite inspired by tales from the middle-ages. The music was composed in 1939 just as the second world war was about the embark. This is noticeable in its nostalgic character.

Leo Smit was a Dutch-Jewish composer, closely related to ‘Les Six’ - a group of parisian composers in which Milhaud was a member. Smit was murdered at the Sobibor extermination camp in 1943. On the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust we will perform his beautiful Sextet for winds and piano.

The program will also include pieces by Schumann (Fantasy Pieces for clarinet and Piano), Bach (Fugue in G minor) and Mozart (Divertimento no. 4 for wind trio).

Looking forward to seeing you soon, hoping for better days and good news,

Members of the Tel Aviv Wind Quintet
