Inspiration and Dialogue

Updated: Jan 25

Dear friends,

We are happy to invite you to our upcoming concert tour, titled 'Inspiration and Dialogue'.

The program focuses on tribute pieces by great composers. The main work on the program is Mordechai Rechtman's arrangement of Brahms' "Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel". Rechtman dedicated this arrangement to our quintet and we are excited to rediscover this monumental piece (originally for piano) and to share it with our audience.

In addition, we will perform two other musical homages: Le Tombeau de Couperin, Ravel's touching neo-baroque suite, in which each movement is dedicated to one of his close friends who died in the First World War; and Beethoven’s vigorous early set of variations on the famous theme by Mozart, ‘Là ci darem la mano’ from the opera ‘Don Giovanni’, arranged for oboe, clarinet and bassoon.

The program will be concluded with the third Big B - Bach, of course... We will play his Contrapunctus no. 13 from The Art of Fugue in a version for flute and bassoon.

You are welcome to join us at the Assia Gallery at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art on Monday, February 13th at 20:00. More information and tickets here:

Two more opportunities to hear this program (slightly modified) will take place in Jerusalem: At the Eden Tamir Music Center in Ein Karem on Saturday, February 11th at 11:00

And at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies (The Mormon University) on Sunday, February 12th at 20:00.
